Ask anyone that has known 29 year old Taylor Langford and you would most likely be told of Taylor’s love for music and the satisfaction he gets from entertaining others. Born and raised in Uvalde, TX, vice president of the Uvalde High School class of 2007, Taylor graduated in May 2011 with a Communications degree in Radio Television & Film from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT he worked for the only FCC licensed student produced television station in the nation, Texas Student Television as the Web Director and also as Live Sports Director for several semesters. Taylor is doubly blessed with stage presence and musical ability far beyond his years. As a three year old, Taylor began singing harmonies to church hymns loudly during services. He quickly learned his love for radio when, at three years old, he took on the job of “official spokesperson” for Regency Chevrolet, cutting monthly radio spots for his father’s dealership for the next two years. At the age of six, Taylor received his first “real” guitar. He soon began taking guitar lessons, which lasted only a few months. Ever since, Taylor’s musical talent has been acquired through his ability to play by ear. His musical talent is not limited to the guitar; through the years he has continued to explore various instruments including the bass guitar, drums, banjo, mandolin, dobro, pedal steel guitar and keyboards. As a child, Taylor’s musical ability was always above that of his peers. His accelerated musical ability most often found him being accompanied by adults. Always eager and willing to entertain, he inspired many other young people, including his two younger brothers, to develop an interest in music. His stage presence will capture the attention of any crowd and he loves to share his musical talent and does so every opportunity he receives.
Over the past several years Taylor has had many great opportunities to perform all over Texas. Although only 26 years old, he has been fortunate to work with many people such as Roger Creager, Radney Foster, John Arthur Martinez (runner-up on the Television series Nashville Star), Sonny Throckmorton and Johnny Rodriguez and has played several years at Palomino Fest featuring the Grammy Award winning Los Palominos.
Taylor has been blessed by some memorable learning opportunities, playing guitar and singing back up vocals for Prentiss Varnon (Nashville Star contestant), Chris Story & Southern Edge, as well as Jim Raby.
Through the years, he has made time to work with other local groups playing drums, bass or guitar for The Joyful Noise Gospel Quartet, Jack & Tess Clarkson, Ken Garrett Band, New Aces Band, Camille Sanders Band, as well as The Memories.
Taylor has performed at many venues including Uvalde’s Grand Opera House, Herman Son’s Hall, Lonestar Saloon, House Pasture Cattle Company, Leon Springs Dancehall as well as the The Don Strange Ranch (Waring Welfare), Province Hill (Helotes), Apache Hill Ranch and the Marquardt Ranch (Boerne) and many others. Two of Taylor’s most memorable events include the opportunity he had to be apart of the 9-11 Memorial held at Uvalde High School Auditorium in 2002 and his invitation to play onboard the U.S.S. Lexington (Corpus Christi,TX) in December of 2006 for a corporate party. Taylor has performed at numerous weddings and private parties all over Texas and always finds a way to satisfy crowds young and old with his wide variety of music!
Taylor and the Texas TNT have often donated their time to play at numerous fundraisers for The Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-Thon, The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Uvalde County Hunter’s Round-Up, Uvalde Adult Activity Center, St. Philips Episcopal School, Uvalde Honey Fest, Badlands Festival, Uvalde Palomino Fest, Leakey Street Dance, Old Settler’s Reunion, Frio County Fair and the Utopia Rodeo.
In the summer of 2009, Taylor was given the opportunity to co-host The Morning Show with Kelly Garrett on KVOU Coyote Country 104.9 which provided him an opportunity to put his interest and knowledge of the music industry to use on the radio.
Taylor and his wife, Valerie currently reside in Austin, TX where he works for commercial real estate group KPG COMMERCIAL. When he’s not playing or writing music he enjoys spending his time hunting, on the lake or taking their 8-month-old Vizsla to one of Austin’s many great parks. Taylor is also currently working on his private pilot’s license.
Known for their energetic stage shows, Taylor Langford & Texas TNT covers everything from classic to current country, along with his originals and their own versions of many classic rock tunes as well, making them a dynamite band for any occasion.
